Frönen Dairy-Free Ice Cream Ditches Bananas for Creamy New Base

    0
By Alisa Fleming on August 12, 2022 Dairy-Free Ice Cream Reviews, Product Reviews

It’s been a few years in discussions, but the founders of Fronen finally decided to shift from a banana-based nice cream to a rich and pure coconut cream base. Their goal has always been to create a dairy-free ice cream line that’s easy on the stomach and made with pure natural ingredients. The reformulation stays true to this mission, but brings more attention to the flavors and consistency.

2022 Fronen Product & Formula Changes

Fronen ditched the banana, letting coconut cream take center stage as their ice cream base. This did increase the calories, fat, and saturated fat in each serving. But, it helps to create a creamier, less fruity product, closer to traditional ice cream. They also discontinued their Banana Coconut, Cinnamon, and Peanut Butter Fudge flavors. All of the information above has been updated for the new formula.

    Additional Allergen Notes*

According to the company, all of their products are manufactured on lines that process dairy and other tree nuts (besides coconut). Before and after each production run, the machinery is cleaned and then tested to ensure there is no allergen residue on it. After their ice cream is manufactured, it is also tested for allergens to ensure there is no cross contamination. That being said, they cannot guarantee there are no allergen particles in the air in the facility. If you are severely allergic, they recommend not eating their ice cream to be safe.

So good!! I love love love the strawberry flavor! It’s the only strawberry ice cream I have been able to find without flavoring and so it tastes real.

    Mint Chip Overly strong flavor

I really enjoy the chocolate flavor , so decided to try the mint chip and it was so strong for me . I felt like I ate strong mouthwash. I will keep the pint and slowly add just a small spoonful of it in with the chocolate flavor in a smoothie so not to waste it. I think in small teaspoonfuls the flavor will be OK.

I tried the strawberry and chocolate. They are delicious. Not too sweet. I don’t eat refined sugar so it was a perfect option for me. I will be buying again from my local Whole Foods.

    It’s not bad

    April 17, 2022

I’m starting a paleo diet so

I’d thought I’d look into dairy free ice cream. I bought the mint chip I do

Agree the chocolate is hard but not bad it’s not creamy like regular ice cream more like crushed ice the mint is way over powering and it doesn’t taste real. Other than that it’s not bad 3-4 stars for me. The price is crazy expensive considering it’s only 4 ingredients come on now

    Strawberry

Little Strawberry flavor. Taste is predominately honey and coconut that tastes synthetic. This is the worst flavor experience I have had in a long time. I eat a low or no sugar diet. I couldn’t eat much of this, it was that bad. I have to wonder if the good reviews are staged. My boyfriend also tried it, and agreed, it was awful. Disappointed. There are better products then this one out there.

Worse tasting frozen dessert I have ever eaten (bought mint chip). Chocolate chips were hard and awful….each guest left them on their plates after seeing me do the same. Not worth the money which was very expensive for what it is.

I open it after letting be not so solid…it tastes so bad. Plus I bought it in walmart and all smells like crap disinfectants. I tried t air out in the cold, wipe it out with vinegar. I wish I could return it. but too late. I will not buy it again. I was excited about only 6 ingredients, no crap, no sugar. Ingredients are not organic either besides the honey so not worth it. I tried the chocolate.
