Vega Protein Cashewmilk Yogurt Alternative (DISCONTINUED)

    0
By Alisa Fleming on March 27, 2019 Discontinued Products, Product Reviews

Unfortunately, Vega Protein Cashewmilk Yogurt Alternative was discontinued in November 2019. See our Dairy-Free Yogurt Reviews section for brands currently available. Some brands that do contain a notable amount of protein include: Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt, Forager Plant-Based Protein Yogurt, Siggi’s Plant-Based Yogurt, Silk Soymilk Yogurt, and Activia Almondmilk Yogurt.

Like dairy yogurt, Vega Protein Cashewmilk Yogurt Alternative is traditionally made via fermentation, pasteurization, and incubation with live and active cultures. They even attempt to mimic the macronutrients by combining creamy cashewmilk with pea protein for the yogurt base. In fact, each single-serve has more protein than sugar!

Vega Protein Cashewmilk Yogurt Alternative is Tops in Plant-Based Protein

Despite the lower sugars, and complete lack of refined sugar, this yogurt alternative is quite sweet. And it does have a notable “pea protein” consistency. But tell us what you think of it by leaving your review and rating below!

    So sad it's gone!

Absolutely best vegan yogurt and was awesome for my children! They LOVED it and it had enough protein, and little sugar, to be worth it. I was really bummed when it was gone at Sprout’s and Grocery Outlet and when O called Sprout’s they said they won’t be getting more.

The only non dairy yogurt I enjoy and has good consistency. Awesome flavor choices (blueberry is my favorite) and the high fiber is a huge plus. Great protein to carb and fat ratio as well. The nutritional profile and taste is worth the minor splurge.

High protein, low sugar, plus fiber. Different texture, so don’t compare with other yogurts on this point, just accept for what it Is!

    Not a fan

I was excited to try. I purchased at Sprouts. Paid $2.89

Cons: The Strawberry flavor in my opinion taste horrible. I couldn’t determine the actual flavor but it is sweet but tart kinda sour. Fact: The consistency was watery/runny. The color for strawberry was not pink more like a mauve. I notice it was grainy.

Pros: It didnt not smell bad. The packaging was cool.

Take away: Usually like Vega products but this one was terrible. I will not buy this product again.

I love this yogurt. The flavors all have a great sweet/tart ratio and it’s got a lot of protein. I could live off this…

Healthiest yogurt alternative on the market

This is the only yogurt alternative available with fruit that has a reasonably small sugar content. Combine that with the high protein and it stands out in the crowd. I like the raspberry, strawberry, and blueberry flavors, and hope that maybe more will become available in time. I do wish that it was available in more stores, and I find the product often running out or in small numbers when shopping for it.

Love the flavor, but could be less sweet

Most yogurt alternatives have minimal protein, so I was happy to find this one. I like the addition of pea protein and the texture does not bother me. I just wish it was a little less sweet, although it comes from Stevia rather than sugar.

The texture is a bit chalky and they do all taste like chocolate for some reason but I do really like these. The pre and probiotics and great and I add some ground flaxseed on top which “fixes” the texture issue for me personally.
