Sugar Plum is a sweet addition to the ever popular Plum Bistro and Seattle’s first fully vegan ice cream shop. Walking into Sugar Plum was like walking into wonderland. The adorably decorated shop had the scent of fresh baked cookies and vanilla, and a menu packed full of indulgent treats and ice creams.
Just like Plum Bistro, Sugar Plum serves innovative vegan food. They are redefining plant-based treats with dairy-free soft serve, sundaes, an array of vegan baked goods, and Blizzards!
For those of us with a voracious sweet tooth, the menu at Sugar Plum is a little daunting. I narrowed it down to vegan soft serve ice cream, which is a rare and coveted treat. And after more time than I’d like to admit, I stepped up and ordered the chocolate vanilla swirl with cookie crumbles and cheesecake bits. A few moments later I was presented with a toppling sweet mountain that I’m sure made my eyes light up. The picture below doesn’t even do the size of it justice!
Unlike what I expected, it wasn’t just a sprinkle of cookie crumbles and a few bites of creamy cheesecake filling. Rather it had huge chunks of two different kinds of cookies and a mound of cheesecake filling! I was instantly smitten, and it was definitely love at first bite. The luscious soft serve ice cream with the chewy chocolate-studded cookies and tart cheesecake went together seamlessly. It was beyond decadent and I savored every last bite.
At Sugar Plum, they are constantly switching up the type of dairy-free milk beverage used as the base for their soft serve, in an effort to make it more accessible to those with food allergies! The flavors and baked goods change daily as well, so there’s always something new to try. And yes, they do have a gluten-free cone, too!
