MN, Minneapolis and St. Paul – French Meadow Bakery & Cafe

0

French Meadow Bakery first came onto our radar with their retail products. Over the years they crafted several different vegan breads, moving into desserts, and then hitting the gluten-free segment hard. But their packaged products have seemingly evaporated (rumor has it that they are now working with Rich’s Corporation for broader distribution).

Fortunately, the two French Meadow Bakery locations in Minnesota have persisted and both offer very broad menus with their baked goods still highlighted throughout. Though it is a traditional bakery and cafe, French Meadow Bakery uses organic and high quality ingredients, and offers many menu items that are gluten-free, dairy-free, and/or vegan, and many others that can be modified upon request. They even have Blueberry Corn Pancakes that are non-GMO, organic, vegan AND gluten-free and a vegan Tofu Cilantro Cream for their tacos! The image below is their gluten-free and vegan Zen Salad with steamed organic brown rice, organic kale, house made guacamole, house made hummus, radish, cucumber, roasted tomatoes, scallions, organic micro-greens, kalamata olives, toasted sunflower seeds, Harissa, and lemon herb vinaigrette – Wow!

French Meadow Bakery serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and happy hour (wine and beer available) at all three of their locations (including Bluestem Bar). And yes, French Meadow Bakery does offer gluten-free and vegan desserts, too (including frozen vegan custard and those amazing cakes pictured below).
