IL, Chicago – Avec

Recommended by a vegan reviewer on Gapers Block, a Chicago web publication, this restaurant is far from vegan, even boasting a special section for "cheese" on their  menu, but they sound to be very accomodating for special diets.  As it is an upscale restaurant with a Mediterranean-inspired menu, there are also many creative sounding foods which may be dairy-free on their own and they should have olive oil readily available to substitute for butter as needed.
