Green Bar and Kitchen was opened a few years back by a nutritionist, Elena Pezzo, who not only believes in the power of good food, she has witnessed it (her brother suffered a stroke and coma, and was given no chance, but intravenous nutrition brought him back). Pezzo’s restaurant is completely vegan and gluten-free, with a menu that features whole grains, nuts, seeds, veggies, soups, fruit, cold-pressed juices, superfood salads and smoothies, raw treats, and baked goods. She uses the best natural local foods available.
Green Bar and Kitchen serves lunch, dinner, kid’s meals, desserts, craft beers, wine, and they have several baked goods and snacks to go.
In 2014, Green Bar and Kitchen added vegan soft serve (by Chicago Vegan Foods) to their line-up, in flavors like green tea, vanilla marshmallow, orange carrot, mango, sweet potato pumpkin and chocolate (they will rotate them seasonally).
