There’s nothing better than a fresh slice of pie to warm you up on these cold fall days. For most, the thought of a warm piece of homemade apple pie melting in your mouth is divine, but unfortunately, for many suffering from gluten-sensitivities, this mental image evokes another sensation — that is, until now.
Sherri Seekins and Rachel Reindeau of Union, Connecticut both suffered from food allergies and intolerances throughout their lives, preventing them from enjoying some of life’s finest treats. They were desperate to find some quality allergen-free food, and after years of disappointment, decided upon creating the products themselves. Wanting to share their creations, they created Par Delà Bakery.
The founders of Par Delà Bakery wanted products that not only looked and smelled appetizing but which also tasted equally delicious. Unlike some other ‘gluten-free’ options on the market, Par Delà products are not ‘rubbery’ or ‘crumbly’. Par Delà’s secret—freezing the treats immediately after preparation, unbaked. Par Delà Bakery now gives customers with food allergies and intolerances the ability to enjoy the appetizing aroma of pies, cookies, and breads baking in their own home.
“Having Celiac Disease is a lifestyle change that comprises tastes and textures that we are used to,” says co-founder Sherri. “This is why Par Delà products are unlike any other of their kind! They are full of taste and have a great texture!”
Par Delà Bakery was established to provide consumers with natural, vegan baked goods not containing the eight major food allergens (including eggs, wheat, dairy, and soy) found in common food products. The goal of Par Delà Bakery is to raise awareness and provide a great alternative that anyone can enjoy. Par Delà products are now available in many stores across Connecticut, and will soon be available throughout New England, the east coast, and most of the midwest.
